Barclays held its 23rd Annual Global Technology Conference in San Francisco on December 11-12. Three companies presented on the same day, each addressing how established platforms defend against AI disruption:

  • Workday argued that enterprise AI requires 100% accuracy, which large language models alone cannot deliver.

  • Salesforce reported that customers transitioning to its “agentic enterprise” platform see 3-4x revenue expansion.

  • Cirrus Logic described a hardware business where chips ship for 7-8 years without redesign. That frees R&D for diversification.

Workday’s Gerrit Kazmaier, nine months into his role as President of Product and Technology after leaving Google, laid out the company’s framework for why enterprise software platforms won’t be easily disrupted. His central argument is that successful enterprise AI requires accuracy that generative models alone cannot guarantee:
